We are so excited to see you all in a few short hours! Everyone here at camp is getting ready to share their art with their families and friends.
A goal of camp is to spread kindness in our community and teach campers the value of community engagement. Yesterday, we went out on the New Haven town green to spread some positivity and motivation. Take a look at the camper's work!
This session campers have created a "Chocolate Forrest" mural complete with the Willy Wonka chocolate river and a ton of lollipops! Written on the lollipops are camper's answers to the question, "What is something new you have learned at camp?" The mural is halfway done but we wanted to share with you all some of the awesome answers campers have submitted- photos below! It is amazing to see how camp improves a camper's confidence, develops their performance and artistic skills all while giving them the opportunity to make great friends and memories. These lollipops show just how large of an impact Shubert Summer Theater and Arts Camp has!
Wow- We are already nearing the end of Week 1! In this past week the campers have made great progress on the shows and their projects! Candy has been made for the Willy Wonka JR. set, filming is underway for the Short Film class and visual art students are hard at work on their pieces. We are so proud of the work they have already accomplished and cannot wait for what comes next week. For now, enjoy the following photos and the holiday!
First day of camp is almost over! We have already made awesome memories and can't wait for the rest of the summer! See you tomorrow!
We are so excited to see you all tonight! We've been busy the past month getting things ready for next Monday, including getting everyone's name tags together and hung on our beautiful front desk bulletin board. What do you think?!
Remember Open House drop in hours are tonight 5-6:30 PM. We'll see you there! Yesterday we started unpacking camp materials, take a look at the picture below! It may not look like much now, but those boxes contain arts and crafts supplies, props for this summer's musicals, and the 2019 camp t-shirts! We're excited for you all to see the color of the shirts and so much more at the Open House event next Tuesday evening. See you there!
Hello!
I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the first day of camp in only 20 days! My name is Julia Rafferty and I am the Shubert Summer Theater and Arts Camp intern! I am a Dramatic Arts student down at the University of North Carolina (Go Heels!) and I cannot wait to return back to summer camp and have so much fun with you all! I have spent the past week getting things ready for July 1st... which is quickly approaching! I've been preparing scripts for our exciting four productions and have cut hundreds of Camp Care Cards that we cannot wait to hand out to kind campers! Throughout the summer I will be posting updates, photos and showcase teasers to this blog page to keep you all informed on the fun we are having at camp! I am so excited to meet you all soon and be sure to check back in for glimpses into typical camp life! Best, Julia This is it, the final day of camp. Four weeks have flown by! Last night's shows were amazing. We'll be posting pictures from everything in the coming weeks, once we clean up a little. For now though, we'll leave you with this. In 1959 The Sound of Music premiered on the Shubert stage. After our camp dress rehearsal, we took a little trip to the Shubert so our camp cast of The Sound of Music could become part of that rich history. This is just one photo.
Thank you everyone for a great summer! See some of you tonight at 5:30 for the last show! |
